Most of those who have (or have had) children remember the nights that your little one comes out of bed and gets in bed with you. This can be a nice thing, if your child does not squirm all night, and if he actually manages to fall asleep. But Calvin decided the last couple of nights that he would stay up late, or should I say wake up early. He was up from 2-6am the last couple of mornings, and when he's awake, Luiza and I are awake. hmmm
So, I had to take a sick day yesterday, just to stay home and help my wife get through the day, not to mention that I was exhausted too from the lack of sleep. It's not easy to sit in a cubicle for 8 hours on just 3 or 4 hours of sleep, especially 2 days in a row.
But, hopefully, this will pass. I believe most of it has to do with the fact that we are still pottytraining Calvin, and he hates to poop on the potty, so he decides not to go, getting constipated in the meantime. This causes him to wake up, but he then can't go potty. We go to the doctor to find out the results of his allergy tests. Hopefully these results will give us some insights into the diet he should really be on....

Nothing New
I usually only post a new blog when something exciting happens. But this weekend was very pleasant in that nothing exciting or unexpected really happened. Yesterda was Saturday, and we went out as a family and went shopping for things for the house. My son, Brendon and I worked on the yard in the late afternoon. I realized how big of a yard we have now. Our old yard only took me about half an hour mow, but this new yard took about 1 and a half hours to mow. When I was done, I was extremely satisfied with how the yard looked. We are so blessed to be in our new home. The sun was shining brightly in the living room this afternoon. The big windows are so welcoming to the outside light. Soon we may have to decide what to do with the house. Whether to rent or sell, but we will see what happens with our trip to Brazil.

My first "I love you"
Today Calvin woke up with wet clothes, as happens with little kids sometimes. I took him to bed with Luiza after I changed his clothes, and I went to get ready for work. After I was ready to leave, I went to kiss Luiza and Calvin goodbye. As I left the bedroom, I heard a little voice say "I wuf woo". For most parents of 4 year old kids, hearing "I love you" probably is routine occurrence, but for me, this was a first. Calvin told me for the first time, unprompted; uninitiated by someone else, that he loves me!!! I couldn't believe it! I was so excited that I just had to swallow my emotions to go to work. I hope I never forget that feeling...
